Bio/Admin History:Keno Balla, 1906-1993, worked in the transportation industry at Banff, Alberta, Canada. Balla was born and educated at Canmore and spent his early years in Bankhead. Balla worked at the Brett Sanitarium in Banff during the early 1920s and then for Brewster Transport at various times between 1925 and 1955, mainly driving tour buses and arranging, selling and dispatching tours. Balla played the trumpet in the Banff Citizens Band, ca.1924, and the Cascade Dance Hall band.
Scope/Content:Fonds consists of photographs collected by Keno Balla in connection with his employment and musical interests. Includes publicity photographs for Brewster's Skyline Tours, Banff-Lake Louise-Icefields Parkway and Saskatchewan River Bungalow Camp, some by Jack Davis; also views of Brett Hospital, ca.1910; Banff Avenue, n.d.; Banff Citizen's Band, ca.1924; and Fred Bagley, 1936.
