| Bio/Admin History: | The Committee was a planning and fundraising body for library / seniors centre, Banff, Alberta, Canada. It was formed in 1980 through the initiative of the Banff Library Board and was composed of representatives of Banff School District No. 102, Banff Library, senior citizens groups, library users and community groups. The committee was responsible for raising 300 thousand dollars towards building construction costs.

| Scope/Content: | Fonds includes minutes, agenda and other meeting material; correspondence; administrative, building, architectural and other reports; financial records; newsclippings and brochures; also related minutes of the Banff Library Board, survey results and other materials. Includes material pertaining to lease arrangements with the Peter and Catharine Whyte Foundation and Parks Canada; needs assessment for library, drop-in and senior centre; and facilities and building planning.
