Bio/Admin History:Richard (Dick) G. Pike was involved in early skiing in the Canadian Rockies. He later moved to Lake Oswego, California
Scope/Content:Fonds consists of letters, reports and articles pertaining to development of skiing in North America and western Canada, 1936-1945; written by, to, or collected by Norman Watson. Also includes a manuscript titled "Take Care, Son" by Richard Pike, 1971, pertaining to early flight into Sunshine by Al Gaetz and Dick Pike, 1947. The flight resulted in a crash landing. Manuscript is accompanied by five photographs by Richard Pike and a letter of explanation from R. G. Pike to R. W. Sandford, 1992
