Bio/Admin History:Humphrey Toms was a young man in 1933 when he carried an introduction from a family friend to Mary Warren because he had an interest in botany. An occasional correspondence began with Mrs. Warren up to her death in 1939, influencing Toms' decision to study botany. Toms lived at Victoria, B.C. in his later years.
Scope/Content:Fonds consists of 28 letters from Mary Schaffer Warren to Toms and one letter to Toms' brother, 1933-1938; also one card from William Warren to Toms re Mary Warren's death, 1939. The letters provide significant information about Warren's life, contemporaries and explorations in the Canadian Rockies.
