Holdings:The Red Deer and District Archives was established in March 1964 by the City of Red Deer. Its collections relate primarily to the City of Red Deer and its immediate vicinity in Central Alberta. The Archives also holds records for several other public bodies and institutions, as well as numerous organizations, associations, churches, cemeteries, businesses, unions, cooperatives, lodges and clubs. The Red Deer and District Archives has placed a strong emphasis on genealogical information and research. It maintains an extensive set of biographical files on local families and residents. Space is also provided for the branch library of the Alberta Genealogical Society.
